Web design & development
Fast sites, built on stacks you can keep.
We design and build on Astro, Next.js, and WordPress — chosen for speed, accessibility, and portability. You get a codebase that is yours to keep, not a locked page-builder subscription that taxes you monthly and traps your content.
The real problem
Why the default way falls short.
Page-builder bloat
Drag-and-drop builders ship dozens of scripts and megabytes of CSS you never use. The result is a slow site and a template you can never fully leave. We hand-build, so pages load fast and stay clean.
A rented template, not an asset
Most agency sites live inside a builder subscription — stop paying and the site degrades. We deliver real code in your repo, hosted on infrastructure you control. It is an asset you own outright.
Pretty but unstructured
A site can look fine and still be invisible to Google and AI assistants because the markup underneath is a mess. We build the semantic structure and entity graph in from the first commit.
What you get
- A hand-built site on Astro, Next.js, or WordPress — matched to your needs, not a one-size template
- Real performance budgets and Core Web Vitals tuning, not just a one-time Lighthouse screenshot
- Semantic, accessible markup (proper headings, landmarks, alt text, keyboard nav)
- An AI-readable entity graph and structured data baked in from day one
- Responsive, mobile-first layouts built around the visitor deciding to act
- Your repository and your hosting — leave anytime with everything
How a project runs
- 1 · Scope — We map goals, pages, and content, and pick the right stack — static Astro where it fits, Next.js where interactivity earns it, WordPress where you need to self-edit.
- 2 · Design & build — Layout, copy direction, and a hand-built front end. Structure, schema, and performance are part of the build, not a later add-on.
- 3 · Review & test — Real-device and real-browser testing, accessibility pass, and Core Web Vitals check before anything ships.
- 4 · Ship & own — Live on infrastructure you control, in a repo that is yours, with the option to wire in hosting, SEO, and automation from the same operator.
How we think about web design & development
We choose the stack to fit the job, not the other way around. A brochure or content site is usually fastest as static Astro — HTML at the edge, near-zero JavaScript, instant loads. An app-like experience (a store, a dashboard, gated content) earns Next.js and its server rendering. A site a non-technical team needs to edit daily is often best as a lean, well-configured WordPress. The mistake most shops make is forcing every project into the one tool they know.
Speed is a design constraint here, not a nice-to-have. Slow sites lose visitors before the first paint and get quietly demoted by Google, and image weight and third-party scripts are usually the culprits. We set a performance budget up front and hold the build to it — the difference between a 6-second and a 1-second load is the difference between a bounce and a lead.
Every site we build is structured to be read by machines as well as people. That means semantic HTML, a clean heading outline, and a cascading entity graph rooted in one canonical Organization node — the same foundation our AI-SEO work builds on. A beautiful site that Google and ChatGPT can't parse is a billboard in the desert.

Questions
Web design & development FAQ
Which platform will you build my site on?
Whichever fits — static Astro for fast content sites, Next.js for app-like experiences and stores, or WordPress when your team needs to self-edit. We pick based on your goals, not on what is easiest for us to reuse.
Do I own the site when it's done?
Yes. You get the code in your own repository and the site runs on hosting you control. Everything we build is open-source and portable — you can take it and leave anytime.
Will the site be fast?
Speed is built in, not bolted on. We set a performance budget, optimize images and scripts, and tune Core Web Vitals before launch — measured with real metrics, not a single screenshot.
Can you also handle hosting and SEO?
Yes — the same operator who designs your site can host it, structure it for AI-SEO, and automate the workflows around it. One stack, no handoffs across four vendors.
Do you build mobile apps?
We build app-like web experiences — Next.js front ends and installable progressive web apps (PWAs) that work on Android and iPhone from one codebase, with no app-store gatekeeping. If your project genuinely needs a native store app, tell us in the brief and we will scope it.
Do you design logos and brand assets?
Yes, as part of a site build: logo refinement, a colour and type system, and the image assets the site needs — delivered as source files you keep.
